Science
At Wellfield Junior School, our vision is to give children a science curriculum which enables them to explore and discover the world around them, confidently, so that they have a deeper understanding of the world we live in. We want our children to see themselves as scientists; we are passionate about inspiring and engaging more children to develop a love of STEM, increase our children’s science capital and encourage our young people to choose STEM subjects in their future. Through engaging with visitors from our local community and our professionals in our parent community, they share with us their work in the world of science. Through a hands-on, inquiry-based curriculum, children will experience the joy of having wonderful ideas, exploration and investigation – that is, the joy of finding out. Our aim is that these stimulating and challenging experiences help children secure and extend their scientific knowledge and vocabulary.
