Wellfield Junior School is a two form entry School of approximately 266 pupils.

We recognise that partnership between School and home, between teachers and parents is essential if your children are to be given the best opportunities to which they are entitled.

We strive to set high standards of work and discipline in an environment that is positive, encouraging and respectful. We offer children a range of experiences both in the classroom and through extra curricular activities. Through these we seek to develop the whole child – intellectually, physically, socially and spiritually.

All of our children are required to wear school uniform and details of that can be found in the Parents & Carers section of this website.

Wellfield Junior School Day

• The school day starts at 8:50am and finishes at 3:20 pm
• Morning break-time: 10.20am - 10.35 am (Year 3 & Year 4), 10.40-10.55 am (Year 5 & Year 6)
• Lunch: 11.45am – 12.45pm (Year 3 & Year 4), 12.00 -1.00 pm (Year 5 & Year 6)

In a typical week this equates to 32.5 hours per week. 

To get to and from school, walking is definitely the best option! There are lots of benefits: it’s healthier than travelling by car, it improves the safety of pedestrians and road-users, and it respects nearby residents and parking regulations. Alternatively, we have bike-racks. If you do need to travel by car, please park wisely and with consideration.

Provision for before and after school clubs is provided by Wellfield Infants and Nursery School.  They can be contacted on 0161 962 1828.
